This is the true story of people from opposite sides of the border who come together to form a center of wellness and hope. The community featured in this series is in Naco, Sonora, which lies on the border between the United States and Mexico.

“BEYOND BARRIERS” was an official selection at the 2019 Cannes Short Film Festival in France, and received the Audience Award at the 2020 Golden State Film Festival. This will be a two-part series.

“The Road to Well-being,” which is the second in the series, follows its main characters (Tom and Lupita) as they continue their search for solutions to rampant health issues — ranging from depression to COVID to diabetes. This episode brings in experts from prestigious universities and takes audiences to other locations in the world. Viewers will see how people from different walks of life collaborate in a variety of ways to improve lives.

Alpha Films is proud to have been part of other projects through Alpha Marketing, its sister company. Among these are the short film Madame Esmeralda and the Audition, which was released on the festival circuit in 2016, and won the Audience Choice Award at the Golden State Film Festival.
