Part 2 “The Road to Well-being” aired in December 2024 on KVCR 24.1 Empire PBS. It now streams on PBS SoCal.

“The Road to Well-being” is the long-awaited
sequel to the “Beyond Barriers” pilot.
It continues the uplifting story of dedicated people from opposite sides of the U.S.-Mexico border who set out on personal journeys to empower a borderlands community to change their lives for the better—all while trying to overcome barriers ranging from the pandemic to food insecurity to severe drought.

Oregon state premiere

“The Road to Well-being” was shown twice on the big screen during the festival. There was such a wonderful variety of films, all showcased in this unique location in the beautiful seaside city of Brookings, Oregon.

The NWI wellness center reopens after its long closure during the pandemic.

The core group of people in the borderlands dream of the possibilities when clearing a former landfill.

The borderlands community become empowered to transform a barren patch of land into a fruit and vegetable garden to try to resolve food insecurity.
